Vineet Rai is the Founder of Aavishkaar Intellecap Group. With the idea to build a business that serves the low income and poor communities of rural India, he became a pioneer in the field of Impact Investing and has guided the creation of impact focused entrepreneurial ecosystems that support businesses serving the need of poor and marginalized communities not only in India but across Southeast Asia and East Africa. Since its inception, the Group has impacted the lives of nearly 60 million people and has created more than 280,000 jobs and livelihood through its businesses and investments. Vineet has received numerous global awards including the G20 SME Innovation Award, UNDP–ICC Award, Porter Prize for Social Leadership, and CNBC Catalyst Fund Award. Aavishkaar is the only Indian venture capital fund that is featured as a Case Study in Stanford Business School. Vineet serves as a Commissioner at the Global Commission of Business and Sustainable Development launched at Davos 2016 and as an advisor to The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Science Technology and Innovation Advisory Board. Driving on Indian roads is one of his passion and he tries to cover 50,000 kilometers every year.
