Julia Youngs is a Program Manager at Creative Startups. There, she oversees the company's Albuquerque-based programming, as well as some of their international expansion. Julia combines her passion for community engagement and urban development to help grow more creative cities and creative industries. Furthermore, she also speaks Spanish fluently and Portuguese conversationally. She was born and raised in Albuquerque and holds a BA in English Literature from the University of New Mexico (UNM). She also holds an MA in Latin American Studies and an MA in Community plus Regional Planning from UNM. Outside of academia, Julia has worked in Albuquerque for many years as a stage manager and community arts organizer for organizations such as EmergeABQ, the Downtown Arts & Cultural District, and Umbrella Week ABQ.
