Scott Halcomb is the Director of E-commerce for Babylist, an online baby registry based in Oakland, California. Babylist allows expecting parents to add products from any website to their baby registry and is responsible for over 200,000 gifts given each month. Scott has built Babylist’s online store from scratch, overseeing everything from the shopping experience to vendor partnerships and warehouse operations. Before Babylist, Scott spent 10 years in Japan. Initially, his interest in doing business abroad led him to pursue his graduate research at Hokkaido University. Scott would later do strategic consulting for clients like Samsung, Paypal, and Barclays before starting a online designer goods store, monoco.jp, in Tokyo. Before Scott returned to America, monoco.jp had imported and sold over 50,000 products from 70 different countries.
